Should Police Reality TV Depict Off-Duty Life?

"Cops" only depicted officers responding and handling calls, and oftentimes the banter that goes along with doing this job. With the newer shows, I was taken aback by how these officers allowed cameras into their personal lives.

I expected the four female deputies of "Police Women of Maricopa County" to be portrayed as professional law enforcement personnel. I was wrong.

Cable network TLC returns with "Police Women of Maricopa County," following its airing in the fall of "Police Women of Broward County." The sequel is a similar reality show featuring four female deputies policing the nation's fourth-largest county (3.9 million residents) southwest of Phoenix, Ariz. TLC's Second 'Police Women' Features Maricopa County Deputies

TLC has debuted "The Police Women of Maricopa County," its second police reality show to follow the daily duties of female officers. In August, the network debuted a series following four female deputies from the Broward County Sheriff's Office.
