Pa. Teen Gets 25 to 50 years for Shooting Two Officers

Donyea Phillips, who pleaded guilty in July to two counts of attempted murder and related charges, apologized to Officers Christopher Reed and Stephen Holts. Phillips insisted to Common Pleas Court Judge Glenn B. Bronson that he did not know police were trying to come through the door when he blindly fired through a window Nov. 13.

The jury convicted Robert Guyton,Krusty Cook and Samuel Zachary Arrington on two counts each. Both were out of prison and, the prosecution charged, involved in arranging meetings to set up a revenge hit on former Otero County Sheriff's Deputy Billy Anders because he had killed an Aryan Brotherhood leader in New Mexico.

Lt. Todd Parkins, 38, was killed Wednesday when his shotgun accidentally went off inside his Cedar Crest home. He was standing near his wife and one of his sons when the gun went off.

Investigators don't yet know what happened next but they believe 28-year-old Isaac Zamora of Alger, a man Jackson had been called about before, shot and killed her, another man and four more people before his arrest hours later.
