Las Vegas Metro PD Takes Delivery of Getac Rugged Tablets
Getac Inc., manufacturer of rugged computers, announced that the Las Vegas (Nev.) Metro PD has ordered 898 Getac rugged tablets for its police force. The department ordered 778 Getac F110 rugged tablets to be installed in its cruisers. Another 120 Getac T800 rugged tablets will be deployed by the department's Motor Division to support traffic control and citations.

A Nashville PD recruiter met with 20 Camden officers on Wednesday and said other departments will likely try to hire the officers. Camden is planning to lay off up to 180 officers from its 370-member force on Jan. 18.

The U.S. Justice Department and the Metro Gang Task Force say they've arrested 23 people suspected of distributing Ecstasy in the Denver area. A grand jury handed up a 109-count indictment against 27 people who were believed to be members of the "Asian Pride" gang.
