Fifteen years ago, the officers won a lawsuit against City of Memphis that found promotion tests were discriminatory toward African-Americans and women. A judge agreed and those officers were promoted. More Here.
Police identified the officer as Paris Glass, a seven-year veteran of MPD. She’s been relieved of duty and is on non-enforcement status pending the outcome of an administrative hearing. MPD isn’t pointing out exactly where she appears in the video. She is not the lead vocalist. More Here.

Cops are being punished for activities that they participated in while off duty and while not identifying themselves as officers. So one has to ask the questions: What is an officer permitted to do off duty? Where are the red lines? And at what point do officers lose their First Amendment rights?
