Utah Officer Named NLEOMF Officer of Month for Off-Duty Response
For his actions in responding to an active shooter at a Salt Lake City mall while off duty, Master Officer Ken Hammond of the Ogden City (Utah) Police Department has been named Officer of the Month for April 2007 by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. The incident is detailed in the May issue of Police Magazine.

The 22-year-old shooter who killed two people in an Oregon shopping mall Tuesday evening didn't know his victims, authorities announced Wednesday. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office identified the shooter as Jacob Tyler Roberts.
