Some Dallas Officers to be Issued Less-Lethal Launchers and Sponge Rounds

Police booster group Safer Dallas Better Dallas announced Thursday that it plans to raise $250,000 to help pay for more than 100 launchers that shoot sponge rounds. The less-lethal weapons are meant to disarm and incapacitate someone from up to 100 feet away, police officials say.

North Dakota OKs Less-Lethal Drones

It's legal for law enforcement in North Dakota to use unmanned aircraft systems, commonly called drones. Now House Bill 1328 explicitly states that they may be used to deploy non-lethal force and restricts how departments can use the unmanned aircraft to gather evidence.
