Montgomery (AL) PD Replaces Official Duty Firearm with SIG Sauer P320
SIG Sauer Inc. announced that the Montgomery (AL) Police Department has selected the SIG Sauer P320 as their official duty firearm. The Montgomery Police Department has a complement of more than 500 sworn officers protecting the second largest city in the state, with over 200,000 citizens.

A gunman began running toward Ranger Alexandra Burke and another officer. Ranger Burke shot the man at close range before he could strike her with the knife. The shooting was ruled as justified.

Montana Officer's Miraculous Traffic Stop
A Montana traffic stop ended in gunfire in January, after Raymond Thane Davis pulls out a .44 Magnum revolver and fires at Hamilton Police Officer Ross Jessop. The driver responds to Jessop's question of how much have you had to drink with, "Plenty," and then pulls out the gun. A jury ruled on April 13 that the shooting was justified. Listen for the "click" of the revolver's hammer dropping on an already fired round in the cylinder. The second round was live.

Illinois Deputy Dies 11 Months After Being Shot
A former Army Ranger and seven-year department veteran, Maness was shot in the abdomen and twice in the left leg by a .223-caliber AR15 rifle. He underwent multiple surgeries at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville and was recovering from his injuries. His femur bone was shattered and a three-inch piece of bone was missing.
