Gonzalez glanced back in Anderson's direction a second time. "Aw, shit!" he said, his facial expression leaving no doubt as to the sincerity of the sentiment. And with that, he tossed his soda on the ground and took off running around the corner and southbound on Adams Street.
Sgt. Adam Pasciak's mind began to feel like it was starting to shut down when he heard more gunshots ringing out—a lot of them. Sgt. Jim Turner had witnessed what happened and continued the foot pursuit of the driver, exchanging gunfire as they ran.
A traffic stop turned deadly for Redford Township (Mich.) Police Sgt. Adam Pasciak, who returned fire after a driver with a militia bent pulled a gun from under his shirt during a foot pursuit.
