Maintain Your Gear, It Could Save Your Life

I've seen handguns that have not been cleaned and cared for. I've seen holsters with cobwebs and dust lines, telling me the weapon hasn't been removed in months.

An Effective Weapon Maintenance Plan In 5 Steps

October 21, 2010

What I've learned over the years is that many officers will typically use way too much oil and solvent when cleaning their duty weapons. Is the 1911 Still Viable for Law Officers?

September 30, 2010
The main reason the M1911 is so successful is its grip angle. It's a natural pointer. A weapon that's carried for duty or self defense should be checked for proper lubrication at least every two weeks and lubricated as necessary. Light lubrication is best, because it's less likely to attract dust and grime between firings.
