The Bloomfield Township (N.J.) PD can now upgrade its motorcycle fleet under a program that has expanded to include other types of equipment, such as police cruisers, EMS vehicles, fire trucks, buses, tactical vehicles, or surveillance equipment.

Seattle PD's Homeless Parody
Seattle PD's Assistant Chief Jim Pugel apologized for appearing in a 1986 police training video mocking homlessness. The parody video, "Under the Viaduct," offers alternative lyrics to "Under the Boardwalk" and shows homeless drinking wine, breaking into cars and being rousted by police. Read the full story here.

Law enforcement software is now available for PDAs that can give you license plate information in 15 seconds while you are standing on the side of the road in the rain. There are even systems that will prioritize what they display first when you run a subject's operator's license so that they will show you that the driver is wanted for assault on a peace officer in another county before they show you his address.
