A female Brevard County (Fla.) Sheriff's deputy was fatally shot Tuesday morning in Melbourne while investigating a motel burglary. The deputy has been identified by ODMP as Barbara Pill.

Wis. Deputy Dies Fighting Theater Fire

A Marathon County (Wis.) Sheriff's deputy died Sunday, after he became trapped in an engulfed theater with two other firefighters. Deputy Jamison Kampmeyer was also a volunteer for the Colby Fire Department.

A suspect in the shooting death of a Washington State Patrol trooper early Thursday shot himself as SWAT members closed in. Trooper Tony Radulescu was a 16-year veteran of the agency.
