Border Patrol Agent Dies In ATV Crash

A Border Patrol agent was killed in west Texas late Friday in an ATV crash near the Fort Hancock port of entry. Leopoldo Cavazos, Jr., 29, was patrolling along the border fence about a half-mile from the entry point when the accident occurred.

Tenn. Trooper Suffers Heart Attack On Duty

A Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper suffered a heart attack and died while on duty, the agency has announced. Trooper Ronnie Hale, 57, was a 15-year veteran of the agency.

A Jenks (Okla.) Police Department officer has died after falling ill during physical fitness training on Wednesday for the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics. Officer Juan Legarreta, 27, had been a member of the department for about a year.

Denver Officer Shot, Killed at Jazz Concert

Officer Celena Hollis succumbed to wounds from the shooting, which occurred shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday at the City Park Jazz concert. Police believe Rollen Oliver, 21, shot Officer Hollis in the head.

Ga. Deputy Killed By Wrong-Way Driver

A Bryan County (Ga.) Sheriff's deputy was killed early Friday, when a wrong-way driver struck his cruiser on Interstate 95. Deputy Robert Crapse succumbed to injuries he sustained in the crash, which happened at about 2 a.m.

A Harper County (Okla.) Sheriff's reserve deputy was killed after he lost control of his vehicle while responding to a call and crashed in Laverne. Deputy Charley Coen's Dodge Charger left the roadway on Highway 64 about two miles west of Buffalo.
