Grand Jury Expected to Charge NYPD Ticket-Fixing Officers
The grand jury investigation is now expected to result in charges against more than a dozen police officers, most of them for crimes related to fixing tickets. The others face more serious corruption charges, a person briefed on the matter said. About 25 to 40 officers are expected to face charges.

Taking a no-nonsense stance against Internet predators, sex offenders, and crimes committed against law enforcement officers, Florida Governor Charlie Crist signed five bills into law today. Crist also proposed that the Florida Supreme Court empanel a statewide grand jury to investigate gang activities.

Proposed NY Law Would Make Attacks on Officers Hate Crimes
A New York bill (S1114A) called the “Community Heroes Protection Act” was passed by the state senate last week. If it becomes law, the bill sponsored by Senator Fred Akshar (R-C-I, Colesville), would classify crimes committed against law enforcement, EMTs, and firefighters as hate crimes.

Charges Dropped Against Atlanta Officers in 2020 Shooting of Rayshard Brooks
In June 2020 Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard Jr. charged Atlanta police officer Garrett Rolfe with felony murder. Officer Devin Brosnan, who was also involved in the attempt to arrest Brooks but not in the shooting, was charged with aggravated assault and two counts of violating his oath.
