After five full days of heated competition in extreme weather conditions, Officer Nate Mickle and PFC Rich McCampbell of the Baltimore County PD SWAT team took top overall team honors with 177 total points in the 2009 FNH USA - Leupold Long Range Precision Shooting Competition, which ended June 5th.

Baltimore County police officers responded to a home in Parkville, MD, for a 911 call about a suspect in the home with a gun. As they entered the home they had an encounter with the suspect. Shots were fired.

Johns Hopkins Gunman Wounds Surgeon, Then Kills Mother and Self
The suspect barricaded himself in a room of the hospital's thoracic center on the eighth floor of the hospital's Nelson Building. The shooter was reportedly upset about his mother's treatment at the hospital and shot the doctor in the stomach during surgery.
