GAT

Gun. Usage: 1930s slang. Adopted later by some gang members. Also: Gat, Heater, Chopper. Some rappers believe these terms come from their culture. They originally come from Prohibition-era gangsters. Gat was short for "Gatling Gun" and was used originally only to refer to Thompson submachine guns.
