Texas Officer Recovering from Dog Attack

June 18, 2018  |

A Burnet (TX) police officer responding to a call of a dog attack on a bicyclist ended up herself coming under attack by three dogs, sustaining bites to both of her arms. The officer, identified as Corporal Alex Fidler, was taking a statement from the bicyclist when the dogs attacked her.

Fidler shot two of the dogs — one fatally — and the third animal ran away.

“Of the three dogs, one appeared to be a mastiff-pit bull mixed breed, another possibly a boxer-pit bull mix; and the third had characteristics of a Labrador and other breeds,” according a report by

Officials sent the head of the dead dog to a state lab for rabies testing.

A very speedy recovery to you Officer Fidler. Here's hoping that you do not have to endure those damn rabies shots but being attacked like that does not sound good as far as the rabies virus goes. Just glad that you were able to shoot and defend yourself without having to worry about bystanders.
