MD Officer Seriously Injured in Shooting, Suspect Dead

A police officer was seriously injured and an armed robbery suspect is dead after a shooting Wednesday afternoon in Dundalk, MD, Baltimore County police said.

Police said officers were called around 2:49 p.m. for an armed robbery in progress at the Logan Village Shopping Center, reports WBAL.

Police said the suspect got on an MTA bus to escape, and officers surrounded the bus and tried to apprehend the suspect before the suspect shot at officers and officers shot back. The suspect died at the scene.

The police officer was shot in the leg. She arrived by ambulance at Shock Trauma in Baltimore around 3:40 p.m. Police said the officer is in serious condition. A wounded civilian victim's injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
