Louisiana Sergeant Found Shot Dead Outside Her Home

December 15, 2015  |

Monday morning, word spread quickly that Sgt. Tracey Marshall, 47, had been found dead of multiple gunshot wounds in her personal vehicle outside of her Terrytown residence. Jefferson Parish (LA) Sheriff's Office investigators did not have a motive or a suspect as of Monday evening, reports the Times-Picayune.

"It's really, really hard right now," said Bryant as she spoke of Marshall's devastated fellow corrections officers, deputies, and bailiffs.

Although Marshall had no children, the 10-year Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office veteran seemed to care for the young officers she supervised during her tenure at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center as if they were her own. Authoritative and firm when need be, she always offered an ear and warm advice to those struggling to find their way.

"She was a great person," said friend and Sheriff's Office colleague Lt. Kenyatta Bryant. "She was always there, loving and caring. Anybody could go to her. She was like the mother of the evening watch for a lot of people."

THE WAR HAS BEGUN OFFICERS, HERE IN THE GOOD OLD USA. PEACE OFFICERS NO MATTER WHAT THEIR DEPT ARE ON THE FRONT LINE. DON'T EXPECT HELP FROM THE CURRENT GOVT. ADMINISTRATION. WATCH YOUR SIX. I DO AND I'M RETIRED.
GOD BLESS YOU SGT. MARSHALL, YOU WILL BE INMY PRAYERS.

Sheriff David Clarke said: " I'm too pissed off to be Diplomatic and I'm not going to stick my head in the sand. The President of the United States started this war on POLICE." Now my heart aches, even in retirement, as I see any law enforcement officer fall because of this liberal hatred of police caused by our government. God bless you Sergeant Marshall......RIP.

It’s depressing to see young Officers like her cut down. I can only hope that those who are responsible for the hatred towards Police Officers in this country suffer a lingering and painful death.

My condolences to Marshall's family and her LEO brothers and sisters. Everyone, both active and retired, be careful out there. It does seem that war has been declared on LEO's.

RIP Tracey Marshall. Prayers for your family

TX Lawman @ 12/16/2015 5:33 AM

My prayers go out to her family, co-workers and friends. End of Shift Sgt. Tracey Marshall, we have it from here. All Blue be safe!

There is no war on police (nor does Bigfoot exist).
The person arrested for this terrible crime, has a relationship with the victim...this does not appear to be a random attack OR an attack targeting police.
I really don't know who is worse in their hyperbole, the retired LEOs on this board or the fools in the BLM movement!!??

Percy @ 12/16/2015 4:56 PM

Condolences all around.
But please War on Cops,
http://www.nola.com/crime/index.ssf/2015/12/former_boyfriend_to_be_booked.html.
Grow up.

Agree with Robert, why do some boneheads have to use this forum for expressing their (frequently incorrect) political views. Suspect is former boyfriend. There is no Obama sponsored war on cops, there is no liberal sponsored war on Christmas. Thanks for your service retired guys, Let's stay on topic. Condolences to the Parrish and the Sgts family.
