Prosecutors: Former Ark. Cop Escorted Traffickers

December 11, 2012  |

Prosecutors on Monday said a former police officer took money from a drug trafficker and escorted him from an east Arkansas town to a bridge linking the state to Mississippi.

What that officer, former Helena-West Helena Police Sgt. Marlene Kalb, didn't know was that the drug trafficker was working with the FBI, federal prosecutor Julie Peters said on the first day of Kalb's jury trial.

"There are good cops and there are dirty cops," Peters said, adding that evidence would show Kalb was the latter.

As the economy falls into depression due to liberal policies and long time cops realize that their retirement fund is evaporating, corruption will increase. This is why citizens need better CCW laws and open carry laws, including a national reciprocity for CCW like law enforcement has.

That may be true. But still gives no reason why this EX-police sgt. should've done what she did. Same holds true for the others. Or other officers who went astray and went over to the other side. 99% of us believe this, and no matter how bad things get financially should we have to resort to this kind of behavior. It's a slap in the face to us L.E.O.'S out there.
