Ex-Chicago Cop Lied About Attack

September 22, 2011  |

On the witness stand, Chicago police Officer Sylshina London recalled how she had been terrified while driving to work in March 2010 when an occupant in another car threw a glass bottle, hitting her in the face, and several other individuals banged on her car and threatened to physically harm her.

"I was terrified because I didn't understand what this attack was about," she testified in a Far South Side branch court last September. "Like it just happened out of the blue. I didn't know what was going on."

But there was a problem with the testimony — it was a baldfaced lie, Cook County prosecutors alleged Wednesday in announcing a felony perjury charge against the former police officer.

I NEVER lied. The case was never about a funeral procession or justice for the offenders who committed the battery and assaults against me. The case was a result of seeking retaliation against me by my former 006th District Commander Eddie Johnson who is currently Interim Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department.
