NYPD Commanders Make History In Brooklyn

The two commanders of the NYPD's 81st Precinct in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, have made history as the first African-American females in the department's 166-year history to lead a precinct.
Deputy Inspector Juanita Holmes, a 24-year NYPD officer, and Capt. Vanessa Kight, 30-year veteran, have been running the department since last week, when Capt. Kight was named to Holmes' executive officer last week.
