Intoxicated Man Brandished Gun In Washington OIS
June 16, 2011
|
A Tacoma (Wash.) Police officer on the way home from work fatally shot a man who pulled a gun on her at a traffic stop.
The 35-year-old officer, who has not been named, was on the way home from her shift, at 2 a.m. and noticed a pickup truck being driven erratically on state Route 302.
Suspecting the driver might be intoxicated, the officer pulled over the vehicle, and called for a Washington State Patrol trooper for backup. As the officer got out of her cruiser, driver Brooks Papineau got out of the truck with a semiautomatic handgun. The officer then fatally shot Papineau.

Way to go officer. That is what is known as having your head in the game.....even at the end of your shift. I am very glad that you were able to defend yourself and make it home safely.
