A NYPD officer shot and killed a serial-robbery suspect in Brooklyn on Thursday, after the man approached a car with three plainclothes officers and began waving a gun, the New York Times reports.
As one of the officers grabbed the gun from Michael Romero, 32, officer Tara Hayes, 30, exited the vehicle and fired a fatal shot into the man's shoulder.
Romero has an extensive criminal record and, at the time of the shooting, was carrying two handguns and a gallon-size bag of marijuana.
