Fired Oakland Officer Files Gender-Bias Suit

An Oakland police officer who was fired for allegedly falsifying affidavits to obtain search warrants in drug cases is suing the city and department, claiming she was fired because she is a woman, SFGate.com reports.
Karla Rush's actions were similar to that of her male counterparts, her attorney is quoted telling the news outlet. Rush was one of four officers fired in April for telling judges that substances seized from suspects had tested positive in the crime lab as narcotics, when they had not.
