N.Y. Agency Struggles to Hire Female Officers

The Southold Town Police Department on Long Island, N.Y., has struggled to recruit female officer, the Suffolk Times reports.
Of the 51 officers on the department, only two (4 percent) are women. That compares to the 300 women (12 percent) working among Suffolk County Police's 2,750 officers.
