Retired Officer, 9/11 Survivor Wins Six Figures on TV Game Show
January 03, 2008
Will Jimeno, a retired officer from the Port Authority Police Department and one of two officers rescued from underneath the wreckage of the World Trade Center after 9/11, won $271,000 on "Deal or No Deal" Wednesday night.
The studio audience for the NBC game show hosted by Howie Mandel gave Jimeno a standing ovation when they heard his story. Jimeno thanked the audience and said, "That means a lot. It means a lot for all of the officers that we lost. I thank you for that."
Jimeno told Mandel that he planned to use his winnings to start a foundation to help other injured officers. "I want to give back to the men and women in blue who give so much every day," he explained.
