Click It or Ticket Seat Belt Campaign to Begin

May 13, 2005  |

This year’s “Click It or Ticket Mobilization” to raise awareness of and compliance with seat belt safety laws will start one week before and run one week after the Memorial Day holiday--from May 23 to June 5, 2005. Thousands of law enforcement agencies in communities across the country will be actively enforcing safety belt laws during this period.

Buckle Up America is a campaign organized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to coordinate paid advertising and the support of government agencies, traffic safety organizations, local advocates, and others to promote traffic safety, and proper seat belt use in particular.

An online planner at www.buckleupamerica.org provides materials and resources that you can use in your community to reinforce the Click It or Ticket message to all motorists and their passengers.
