Sturm, Ruger, and Co. introduced a .380-caliber version of its LCP at SHOT Show that improves capacity and smoother racking of the slide.
The subcompact LC380 offers a seven-round magazine, one additional round from the LCP 9mm autoloader.
The LC380 slide has been designed to help users who lack the arm strength to rack the LCP's slide, a company rep told POLICE Magazine. The LC380 arrives with a manual safety and three-dot windage adjustable sights.
The LC380 is available now and retails for $449.

An easier racking slide is a plus for people, especially many women, who avoid a pistol because the slide is too stiff, making it difficult to chamber a round. Also, the multiple safety feature are a plus, especially with little kids in the house.

You're mixing up the models...the small 9mm by Ruger is the LC9, not LCP. The LCP is the smallest model which is only 380. This new model is based on the LC9 which is larger than the LCP, thus the LC380 designation.
