ArmaLite's SPR Mod 1 AR-type rifle offers interchangeable rails on three sides so operators can add a variety of weapon accessories and customize it to their liking.
The forged, one-piece upper receiver and rail system includes detachable side and bottom rails designed to meet an operator's changing needs for sights, lights, lasers, grips or swivels.
The rifle arrives with three extra rails, including a Picatinny rail with quick-detach-sling swivel hole. Two inserts arrrive with the rifle—a low insert for when a bare rail with a low profile is needed and a plain insert with a quick-detach-sling swivel hole.
Changing rails and add-ons on the SPR Mod 1 is as easy as turning a torque wrench, according to ArmaLite.
The SPR Mod 1's one-piece construction also offers a continuous optic platform (COP). There's no gap to bridge between the receiver and upper rail when installing a scope or sights. The one-piece construction also gives the sighting platform extra rigidty that helps sights stay zeroed during the most challenging conditions.
The SPR Mod 1 has a chrome-lined, chrome moly vanadium 16-inch steel barrel; two-stage trigger; patented steel bolt assembly; and hard-coated finish.
The rifle is chambered for .223/5.56x45mm with a rifling twist rate of 1:7 for 69-80 grain ammunition. It arrives with one 30-round magazine, a sling and black case. It retails for $1,529.
