Washington State Reps Seek Ban on Semi-Auto Military-Style Rifles

This sounds like the same old BS from the anti-gun crowd, comparing owners of this type of firearm to letting people have tanks and bazookas. I have to wonder if it is the rank and file of the Seattle PD that backs it or just the upper echelons that too often seem to have lost any common sense they once may have had.

Yeah, that'll control gun crime. Buncha idiots. Backed by, no doubt, the COMMAND of the Seattle Police--politicians, not real cops--the same dopes that wouldn't let the officers deal effectively with the rioters a few years back for fear of hurting the self-esteem of the "progressive" crowd.

This is just more LIBERAL INCOMPETENCE. Banning black rifles doe's not prevent any crime this has been proven by every major study and by the annual FBI report. The only officers in the Seattle P.D. that supports this are the morans appointed by the mayor. The gun control crowd just doe's not know when to stop. There the same idiots that came up with gun free zone's. Like a homocidal maniac is going to put his gun back in his car when he see's one of those sign's.

It never ceases to amaze me that some persons have not figured out that banning these weapons leaves the law abiding citizen defenseless and that criminals will always find a way to arm themselves. Let's get our courts and legislators to ensure that crimes committed with guns have the highest penalties by forcing the courts to impose a firearms enhancement prior to serving any time for other crimes. Certainty of punishment is the only thing that will keep these individuals off the streets. The down side to this is that criminals that decide to use firearms may be even more violent if there are facing certain punishment. While we all know it can get worse, its already there with the murder of multiple of officers recently in several jurisdictions.

After having been involved in a shooting with a suspect armed with an AK I find it revolting that this tragedy is being used as a means to pass ridiculous firearms laws. Clearly it is illegal to shoot at innocent people. Does anyone really believe that a shooter will choose a weapon based on the legal status of that weapon? This is just a push to control firearms in general and every time they can get a little control they have won. As a LEO I fear the guy who has a single shot rifle and knows how to use it. It is our responsibility to stay ahead of the bag guys, train hard and remain vigilant. Why is the outrage always about the guns and never things like sentencing guidelines, mandatory sentencing, death penalty etc? The reason is simple, most people who push for firearms bands after these shooting care nothing about the police being shot. Our tragedy, loosing a brother LEO becomes a tool for them to use. Be safe, vigilant and righteous.
