Police Kill Woman Reportedly Attacking Husband with Knife

A 57-year-old woman was shot and killed by the San Pablo (Calif.) police on Christmas night while reportedly trying to stab her husband with a butcher knife.

A 57-year-old woman was shot and killed by the San Pablo (Calif.) police on Christmas night while reportedly trying to stab her husband with a butcher knife.

Officers were responding to a domestic disturbance at the residence when the shooting occurred.

The San Pablo police released a statement that read: "During the investigation an officer-involved shooting occurred when Rosalyne McHenry age 57 armed herself with a butcher knife and attempted to assault her husband, Harry McHenry age 51. Rosalyne McHenry was pronounced deceased at the scene."

The shooting is being investigated by the San Pablo police and the Contra Costa County district attorney. The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave, according to department policy. Their names and ranks have not been released.
