Knoxville PD to Hold Regional Heavy Equipment Theft Summit

October 20, 2006  |

FBI-LEEDA and the National Equipment Register will hold a one-day regional summit designed to help law enforcement, equipment owners, and insurers better combat heavy equipment theft. The summit will be held Nov. 10 in Knoxville, Tenn., and will hosted by Knoxville PD.

A general session will discuss the equipment theft problem, recovery challenges, and solutions. Break-out classes will provide law enforcement with instruction in equipment identification techniques, including indoor hands-on equipment identification training. The latest in equipment security technologies will be demonstrated throughout the day.

Catered breaks and lunch will give law enforcement officers an opportunity to discuss issues of common interest with equipment owners and ways to support each other’s efforts.

There is no cost for law enforcement officers, equipment owners, or NER member insurers.

To register, or for details of local accommodations, provide your name and agency to NER at (866) 663-7872 or send an e-mail to [email protected] The cut-off date for registrations is November 1st.
