The first annual 5.11 Challenge, an international shooting competition for members of law enforcement, the military, and public safety organizations, kicked off in July and continues through September.
Hosted by uniform and gear manufacturer 5.11 Tactical, the 5.11 Challenge takes place over eight weeks in Montana on the Big Horn River. Four two-person teams shoot each week. At the end of the eight weeks (July 9-August 29), the three agencies with the best team scores will advance to the finals, September 9-12.
The 32 participating teams were selected at random from nearly 3,000 teams that registered online at www.511challenge.com. The finalists in the 2004 5.11 Challenge will receive prizes from event sponsors for everyone in their departments.
