New shows premiering on Animal Planet this summer showcase police officers who work side by side with animals as partners as well as officers who rescue animals from abuse and neglect.
The special “NYPD Animal Squad” follows members of the New York Police Department and their K-9 and equestrian partners as they police the streets of New York. The program also reveals the rigorous training required to perfect techniques in attack, apprehension, search and rescue, and maintaining order.
“NYPD Animal Squad” airs Saturday, July 24 8:00-10:00 pm.
The show “Animal Cops” follows police officers and agents who rescue animals. Five premiere episodes of “Animal Cops: Houston” will air Monday August 2 to Friday August 6 10:00-11:00 pm. Five premiere episodes of “Animal Cops: Detroit” will air Monday August 30 to Friday September 3 10:00-11:00 pm.
