VIDEO: Oklahoma Sheriff Adds 'In God We Trust' to Vehicles

The Creek County (OK) Sheriff's Office is outfitting its fleet with a phrase that has some choosing sides. The sheriff said the plan is to put "In God We Trust" decals on all detective and deputy vehicles, but he said the four words are not about religion.

"This is patriotic," he said. "It's our national motto. It's not that the Creek County Sheriff's Office is trying to impose or force religious beliefs on anybody."

Davis said, "If I have an employee that comes to me and says, 'I don't want it on the car that I'm assigned,' I don't have a problem with that. Then I'll allow them to make that decision whether or not they want it on that car."

The sheriff said no taxpayer money went toward buying the decals; he said they were all donated.

"In God We Trust" makes it clear that Government answers to a Higher Authority. In times when Government is unrestrained, and out of bounds with it's power. People both in the Government and outside the Government need to know that their not the last word! Even the Supreme Court and POTUS. Once Government Assumes the role of false God, innocent people get killed. First it's the disabled, and the elderly. Than it's one group or another. All because Government thinks it knows whats best for everyone, and plays God. I'm glad the OK Sheriff's office has their priorities correct. Along with Creek Co. OK! Don't let the Godless degenerate "PC Police" come for you! Unrestricted Government will come after the Useless Idiots too, they don't realize that foundation of Freedom in the USA, is reliance on God for Liberty and Justice. Not reliance in the Federal Government or Obama. Only 19% of people in the USA trust the Government. It's time for the 81% to look to God for the answers.

Edit : People both in the Government and outside the Government need to know their not the last word. < Basically what I mean, is the people in the POTUS, SC, Congress, and those groups like La Raza, the ACLU, BLM etc. Who think they "Run The Government." These Groups think they're little Quasi-Gods and can control peoples lives. Like Rainbow Push, or those LGBT-Q organizations. I'm just trying to clarify myself. Sorry for the inconvenience. My whole point is that people in Gov. and Groups think power belongs to them and "Man". When God is the final authority.

Thank you Sheriff. You know what is really important. Few people, especially government, know this. My sheriff, Al St. Lawrence, died this past week of cancer. He didn't butt kiss either. He just knew what was important and followed through. He is and always will be a man to look up to and loved forever. You sound like him. God bless.

Thank you sheriff for having a backbone. Many times while an active LEO I said a little prayer when going into a bad situation. Never hurts to have a little extra help. I am an Army veteran "68 - 71". Ever heard the phrase, "never an atheist in a fox hole?" If someone says that they are offended, then let them be offended. I am offended if they say take it off.

Clearly a bad decision. This country was founded on the separation of church and state. When government officials start forcing reliogion down the public's throats there is a problem. The sheriff has forgotten policing 101...... What about half the public who is not christian or even religious..... The sheriff has publicly promoted religion where it never belongs. Bad decision.

Barbara @ 11/30/2015 7:18 AM

Come on now "separation of church and state." Its called the constitution. Which we all try to protect lets not get into the fray with the rest of the zealots. There is no place on a police vehicle for dogma. We should never have on a police vehicle or anything that divides us from our community. Next is will be political parties, who to vote for etc. Take it off. That belongs in your home, your heart, and your church not on a police vehicle.

tedb @ 11/30/2015 10:42 AM

Barbara: Please point out the provision in the Constitution where it states the separation of church and state. Also, James, this country was founded by Christians and you can shove your separation. Incidentally, this is a cop's forum, so what are you trolls doing on it?

S.S. @ 11/30/2015 11:27 AM

Well james graham and barbara if it offends you so much then don't look at it. I'm pretty sure that neither of you are l.e. so please just leave. I wish our city would do that to our units. It would definately be welcomed.
