The Spot Shot relies on fluid pressure to generate spray from a manual pump to create a mist of paint rather than an aerosol spray applicator. It can apply paint to CARC coatings—highly engineered paints matching the appearance of nature often used in the military. CARC coatings also help hinder detection of a vehicle by infrared instruments. A scratch can alter the IR signature, making the vehicle detectable, according to the company.
