California Sheriff Updates Patrol Car Look

June 20, 2011  |

The Contra Costa County (Calif.) Sheriff's Department is updating its new patrol vehicles to black and white and will add new decals.

Several of the new vehicles are already on the streets, according to a sheriff's news release posted on a county blog on SFGate.com. The release stated the county's 80 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor patrol cars will get the update. The county plans to update the vehicles as they are replaced or when a vehicle undergoes repairs.

The new design will include a seven-point Sheriff's star and the words "Sheriff" and "Contra Costa County" on the side. The release said the words will be in black lettering, outlined in gold, and the trunk will have the word "Sheriff" on it.

You can see the new patrol car look in the blog post here.
