Hawk Point (Mo.) Police Chief Paul Jeffrey Fricke has killed in a solo-vehicle accident, when he lost control of his cruiser along the edge of Highway 47 on Friday, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
It is believed that Fricke's patrol car went off the roadway at about 10:30 a.m., and that he over-corrected, causing his vehicle to cross the highway and strike a utility pole.
Fricke, 37, was reportedly not wearing his seatbelt. Fricke worked as a part-time chief for the small department, and was a full-time patrol deputy with the Warren County Sheriff's Department.
