Lenco Bearcat Arrives For California Agency

The Santa Barbara (Calif.) Police Department has accepted delivery of a Lenco Bearcat armored rescue vehicle to add to its crime-fighting arsenal, the Daily Sound reports.
The 18,000-pound special purpose vehicle cost $242,909 and was funded with a homeland security grant.
The vehicle is set on a Ford F-550 chassis and can withstand a blast from an explosive device, as well as any available non-military grade munitions.
