Room Temperature DNA Storage

Biomatrica’s storage system enables scientists and researchers to ship, store, and manage lab samples at room temperature. The system includes SampleMatrix, a dissolvable storage medium; SampleGard, a sample storage and transportation system; and SampleWare, organization and retrieval software. Biomatrica’s technology is based on the molecular principles of extremophiles (animals that survive in extremely dry environments such as the Sahara Desert) and advanced polymer chemistry. The SampleMatrix storage medium is effective for DNA, RNA, cells, proteins and blood, although the year-old company is initially focusing on DNA storage.
