Safariland Vievu, a brand of The Safariland Group, has announced an expansion to its VeriPatrol On-site Video Management System, now featuring compatibility with the LE5 Lite body-worn camera.

Safariland Vievu, a brand of The Safariland Group, has announced an expansion to its VeriPatrol On-site Video Management System, now featuring compatibility with the LE5 Lite body-worn camera. Ideal for agencies who utilize on-premise video storage, this new option lets agencies maintain their existing infrastructure when updating their cameras. The LE5 Lite body-worn camera is designed to be a best-in-class, fully-integrated system in a compact and lightweight package, allowing agencies to implement or upgrade to a comprehensive body-worn camera program at an affordable price.

"Agencies already using VeriPatrol as their video management system of choice now have the opportunity to maintain their same proven back-end system when they update their hardware.  We've made it an easy and cost-effective transition for those who want the newer features and lower price of the LE5 Lite camera," said Sean McCarthy, vice president of strategy and the Vievu business for Safariland.

VeriPatrol has been a reliable source of on-site video management since 2008. With thousands of agencies currently using the VeriPatrol system, many of them may be looking to upgrade their body-worn cameras without having to lose their local storage network. This new compatibility option allows agencies of all sizes the same security features large agencies require, while also meeting the demands of on-premise policies and smaller budgets. It includes several layers of security to keep data protected and utilizes a FIPS 140-2 compliant Digital Signature process to prove that video has not been altered. The VeriPatrol on-site solution is fully network capable and can support deployments of all sizes.

Compact and extremely light, the LE5 Lite body-worn camera weighs 2.6 ounces and is made to withstand the everyday rigors of patrol. It operates in all weather conditions, ranging from -4°F to 122°F. The undistorted field of view of its precision 95-degree lens is designed to accurately represent an officer's maximum field of view and distance ensuring the integrity of recorded evidence. The LE5 Lite camera has a battery life of five hours and features a simple slide on/off switch covering the lens when the camera is off. Additionally, the LE5 Lite features wi-fi and a mobile app.

The LE5 Lite camera and software can be purchased directly online at vievu.com.  VeriPatrol packages for the LE5 Lite camera are available November 2017, and are priced beginning at $300. This software can easily be added to existing accounts or the user can add a new account. The LE5 Lite body-worn camera is offered at $199.

This new offering was presented throughout 2017 IACP Conference in Philadelphia, PA. For more information, visit www.vievu.com.
