SMILE LE Social Media Conference to be Held in Canada in October

June 18, 2015  |

The 12th SMILE Conference will be held in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada from October 6th-8th and will be hosted by the Niagara Regional Police Service. Since 2010, the SMILE "Social Media the Internet and Law Enforcement" Conference has been devoted to social media and Internet initiatives for police.

The super early rate is in effect, at $499CAD through July 31st. With the exchange rate, U.S. police professionals can attend for about $405 USD. And for U.S. attendees, the hotel rate is less than $100/night.

Two of three keynotes have been selected: Emily Vacher, the law enforcement liaison with Facebook, and a former police officer; and Deputy Chief Peter Sloly of the Toronto Police Service.

The conference will also announce the winners of the 4th annual ConnectedCOPS Awards, sponsored by LexisNexis. Nominations are currently open in eight categories. For more information about the awards visit http://connectedcops.net/connectedcopsawards-2014/.
