Handheld's ALGIZ 10X Rugged Tablet Now Compatible With Spillman Technologies' Public Safety Software

August 01, 2014  |

Handheld Group, a manufacturer of rugged mobile computers and smartphones, and Spillman Technologies, Inc., a public safety software provider, today announced the compatibility of the Handheld Algiz 10X ultra-rugged tablet computer and Spillman Technologies mobile software.

The powerful Algiz 10X can withstand tough weather elements and harsh handling, and its large, 10.1-inch touchscreen provides the best screen visibility on the market, according to the company. Spillman Technologies offers more than 40 software modules, enabling public safety agencies to completely customize an integrated software system. Spillman's Mobile suite of products, which include Mobile Driver License Scanning, Mobile Records, and Mobile Voiceless Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), among others, were designed for easy access to information in the field.

"The Algiz 10X is perfectly suited for agencies that need a rugged tablet computer that is lightweight and built to withstand the harsh conditions that come with all kinds of public safety fieldwork," says Danny Adams, business development manager at Handheld US. "Coupling it with Spillman mobile software modules provides the best of both worlds: leading, proven software together with a tablet tough enough to meet their demands."

The Algiz 10X is IP65-rated and meets stringent MIL-STD-810G military standards for protecting against dust, water, vibrations, drops and extreme temperatures. It is lightweight at just 2.9 pounds, and it is only 1.2 inches thick. The Algiz 10X operates on a powerful dual-core processor, offering top-of-the-line computing capability, and the 128 GB SSD disk is expandable via microSD for massive storage capacity. The Algiz 10X runs Windows 7 Ultimate.

"Our customers rely on our mobile software modules to access critical information in the field. The Algiz 10X is an ideal device to run Spillman software because it offers the complete ruggedness and mobility that public safety agencies require," says Brian Pugh, product line manager at Spillman Technologies.

Spillman serves more than 70,000 public safety professionals across the United States, including police departments, sheriff's offices, communication centers, fire departments and correctional facilities. Spillman Mobile modules tested with the Algiz 10X ultra-rugged tablet include Mobile AVL, Mobile Driver License Scanning, Mobile Law & Field Interview Forms, Mobile Premises & Hazmat, Mobile Records, Mobile State & National Queries and Mobile Voiceless CAD.

The Algiz 10X ultra-rugged tablet will be showcased at APCO in New Orleans on August 3-6. Handheld will be in booth 641.

The Algiz 10X and Spillman Technologies software are available now. Orders for the Algiz 10X can be placed by calling 541-752-0319 or via email at [email protected].

The Algiz 10X stronger and what we could see, was listening to it a lot of evaluation and assessment that we can verify.
