Connecticut Crime Lab Loses Accreditation After Critical Fed Audit

The Connecticut forensic crime lab has lost its accreditation from a nationally recognized society following federal audits that were critical of administrative practices.
The federal audits raised concerns about the administration of the lab. The integrity of DNA testing on crime-scene evidence had not been compromised by the huge case backlogs and chronic under-staffing, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has said.
