L.A. Sheriff to Rapper: Apologize for Flash Mob Tweet

August 14, 2011  |

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department captain said the agency is still waiting for an apology from rapper The Game, after a Twitter message from his account caused calls to flood the Compton substation on Friday.

The message on The Game's Twitter account Friday urged his 580,000 followers to call if they wanted an internship. The number he gave was to the station's help line, says Capt. Mike Parker.

The resulting flood of calls was a "symphony of misery" and has prompted a criminal investigation, Capt. Parker told the Los Angeles Times.
