June 30, 2011  |

The Los Angeles Police Department is turning to Hollywood celebrities for help to get the word out about the mid-July closure of the 405 freeway between the San Fernando Valley and Westwood.

The LAPD is asking celebrities with large Twitter followings including actors, musicians and athletes to urge their followers to avoid the 10-mile stretch of the roadway that will be closed on the weekend of July 15 and encourage them to stay close to home.
