Chicago Police Expand Video Surveillence With Wireless Routers

December 26, 2010  |

The Chicago Police Department will further expand its video surveillance system coverage using SpeedLAN 9200 outdoor wireless routers by wireless network solutions provider Mountain Secure Systems.

The department has already deployed more than 1,000 SpeedLAN wireless routers with the help of IP surveillance solutions provider Avrio RMS Group.

The SpeedLAN 9200 wireless router offers coverage for point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and wireless mesh networks for high-speed data, video and voice (VoIP) applications, according to the company.

"Our SpeedLAN wireless routers have been in operation for over five years for the Chicago Police Department," says Ken Dickson, general manager, Mountain Secure Systems. "They have stood up against some of the worst weather imaginable, yet they continue to be extremely reliable."
