L.A. County Sends Backlog of 4,763 Rape Kits Out for Testing

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has counted and outsorced nearly 5,000 rape kits that brought media coverage in 2008.
The department still needs to test and process the 4,763 kits, which should be done by the stated goal of June 2011, the Los Angeles Times reports.
