Mock Prison Riot Showcases Corrections Technologies

April 02, 2004  |

The eighth annual OLETC Mock Prison Riot is designed to showcase new and emerging corrections, law enforcement, and public safety technologies by allowing teams of officers to experience them firsthand in various scenarios.

Hosted by the Office of Law Enforcement Technology Commercialization (OLETC) and the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), the Mock Prison Riot will be held May 2-5 at the former West Virginia Penitentiary in Moundsville, W.V. The event will be conducted in conjunction with the National Corrections and Law Enforcement Training and Technology Center (NLECTTC) and the West Virginia Division of Corrections.

Twenty teams from 12 states, including Wisconsin, Ohio, Florida, and New York, are scheduled to participate. They will be testing technologies from more than 50 companies.
