Nebraska Begins Sex Offender Notification Service

August 01, 2001  |

Appriss Inc., has teamed up with the Nebraska State Patrol Sex Offender Registry Office to provide sex offender notification on moderate, or Level II, offenders.

Qualified agencies receive information on offenders by telephone or fax, allowing playground supervisors at schools and daycare centers to better identify suspicious people and avoid areas where sex offenders live.

The notifications are conducted through Apriss' patented VINE(R) (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) system. VINE provides automated notification to crime victims when an offender is released or escapes from jail or prison. Nebraska is one of 11 states offering a statewide victim notification system.
